Hello! My name is Madeline Maynor and I am so happy to have joined the 5th grade team at Langston Road Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year teaching ELA, reading, and writing! My own education journey includes an Associate of Arts degree in English from Georgia Military College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and writing from Clayton State University, and my Master of Arts degree in Teacher Education from Middle Georgia State University. 

When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my parents, 8 brothers and sisters, and my 5 beautiful nieces and nephews! In addition, I love to cook, bake pound cakes, write poetry, play piano, listen to music, workout, spend time outside, and read old classic books. When I can, I travel and I just took my first trip abroad to Ireland this past spring!

Having 3 years of prior experience in the classroom, my favorite part of teaching is helping my students form their own reading/writing goals and take ownership for their success. Every one of those "aha!" moments is rewarding! My biggest hope for my students this year at LRES is that they walk away with a love for reading, an ability to see beyond a text for greater meaning, and find that writing is a way to communicate their own individuality, thoughts, and passion!
